What is "Art 4 Animals" all about?
Here are a couple of questions we've been asked about the upcoming "Art 4 Animals" fundraiser on Saturday, September 26th.
Q: Is all the artwork created by dogs?
A: No, most of the artwork is created by humans like Clearwater artist Lois Dixon. She donated "Falling" which is make of ink on Yupo paper (value $75).
Q: Are the art pieces all of animals?
A: While we have many pieces of art with the main topic of animals like Sarasota artist Drew Strouble's "Reverie" (value $160), many are not such as Clearwater based John Martis' "Red Forest" (value
$100).
Q: I've never been to an art auction. Are you having a professional auctioneer who talks REALLY fast and might think I'm bidding on a piece if I scratch
my nose?
A: No, this is a fun, laid back event which will be emceed and auctioned by volunteer Eric King (who does our "Animal Trivia" events) and Suncoast Animal League Executive Director Rick Chaboudy.
While raising funds to rescue more animals is serious, this auction will be fun.
Q: I see you have a red carpet and champagne toast. Sounds like a big gala. Do I have to wear a cocktail dress or tux?
A: No, cocktail dresses and tuxedoes are not the expected attire. Just please no flip flops or shorts. The red carpet is for fun and the champagne is because our amazing event sponsor Nature's Food
Patch so generously donated the wine and champagne for the evening.
